Chicory Flower Essence

Updated: Nov 10, 2025

Chicory is a perennial flower from the dandelion family. As an herbal, it is known to reduce stress, protect the liver, ease osteoarthritis, and improve gut health. As a flower essence, chicory is used for the root of imbalance of "over-care for the welfare of others".

Caring about others is very important, but being overly concerned about their well-being, can indicate an imbalance. Over-caring can lead to frustration, because the person won't do what you think is best for them. It can also lead to trouble in that relationship, because nobody wants to be controlled by someone else. Each person has to figure out what is best for them and their own lives.

When a person is out of balance, these characteristics may be present:

  • Sacrifice themselves for others in order to cling to them and get affection

  • Manipulative

  • Possessive

  • Over-protective

  • Strong-willed

  • Opinionated

  • Argumentative

  • Can't relax

This same person, when in balance, can display these characteristics:

  • Warm

  • Kind

  • Able to care unselfishly

  • Able to let others go

I offer consultations to address emotional needs with flower essences.
