Sage Tea

Sage has been used for centuries to heal wounds, regulate blood sugar, improve cognition, and reduce hot flashes. It is an easy and effective remedy.

Here's what you do:

1 cup of water

2 springs of fresh sage, crushed, or 1 tbsp of dried sage

Honey, if desired

Boil water and add the sage. The longer you boil it, the stronger the tea will be. Allow at least 15 minutes. Crushing the leaves helps shorten the steeping time. Using dried sage in a diffuser will take even less time. Add honey, if desired.

For wound healing, soak a cloth in the tea and apply to the wound several times a day.

Caution

If you have a reaction to sage tea, such as mental agitation, wheezing, or hives, you may have a sage allergy. Discontinue use and seek medical attention as necessary.

Otherwise, it is safe to drink 3-6 cups of sage tea per day, even with its essential oils, camphor and thujone.
