Carnivore Diet: 60 Days In

Updated: Jul 27, 2025

Today is day 60 of my carnivore diet journey. I want to share some of the symptoms I was having before I started and where I am today.

ree

Before: Constant thoughts about food, constant cravings

Now: I usually only eat once or twice a day, and I don't plan my life around food. A couple of times, I have forgotten to eat! For my birthday, instead of getting cake with buttercream frosting, my sister made a carnivore cheesecake for me, and it was awesome! No, it doesn't have meat in it. I will eat this way at Thanksgiving and Christmas this year as well.

Before: Fatigue, never had energy, couch potato syndrome

Now: My energy kicked in on day 12. I am going to the gym again and using my rebounder. The last couple of weeks, I have dealt with fatigue from a parasite cleanse. That will be over soon.

Before: Blurry vision, unable to read at all without reading glasses, beginning to not be able to see the computer screen, spent $358 on glasses for reading and driving at night

Now: I was at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, picked up a small jar to read the ingredients. When I set the jar down, I realized I had read the very small label without glasses. I don't need reading glasses anymore, not even for my 1000pc puzzle.

Before: Persistent body odor

Now: Body odor was gone after the first week on carnivore. Now, I rarely use deodorant and don't smell.

Before: Pain in my feet, knees, hips, and back

Now: No pain in my feet, knees, hips, or back. Most of the pain was gone after the first week.

Before: Trouble breathing

Now: I breathe deeply without any problems.

Before: Inflamed sinuses, often aggravated by seasonal pollen.

Now: I don't have any trouble breathing through my nose. No pain, no drainage, no stuffiness.

Before: Dry skin, if I scratched my arm or leg, it was ashy

Now: My skin is hydrated and moisturized. I haven't been using anything on it for the last couple of months. I just started using tallow for the health benefits, but my skin had improved before that.

Before: Trouble sleeping through the night without taking magnesium or ashwagandha

Now: I sleep through the night nearly every night without any help.

Before: Would burn in the sun

Now: I recently spent about an hour touring Fort Clinch State Park at Fernandina Beach, FL, wearing a sleeveless shirt and no sunscreen. Then, I spent a couple of hours on the beach, no sunscreen. I didn't burn at all, but got a great tan. I spent several hours outside at my sister's house a week or two after that with no sunscreen and didn't burn then either.

This has been the easiest diet I have ever been on. It will always be an important way of life for me. I've experienced too much healing to go back to inflammatory foods full time. I don't feel deprived AT ALL. I eat good food like buffalo chicken wings, bacon cheeseburgers, sausage, egg, and cheese breakfasts, steak, seafood, etc.

I am on this journey for the health benefits. I have lost around 24lbs. I lost a pant size last year when I did carnivore. Now, the smaller size is getting loose. That's great but the way I feel means more than the way I look.
