Turmeric Tea

One Friday evening, after being on a strict low-carb diet, I decided to have frozen pizza and ice cream. When I woke up Saturday morning, it felt like every joint was rusted and I could barely move. I was experiencing systemic inflammation from the junk food I had eaten the night before.

I sat in my chair, hurting all over, trying to figure out what I needed to do. I remembered I had turmeric in my spice cabinet and decided to make a turmeric tea. Here's the recipe I used:

2 cups of water

1/2 tsp of turmeric

(for additional benefits, 1 tsp of ginger can also be added, if desired)

Add turmeric to water and boil for 10 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly before drinking.

Add lemon, honey, or whatever you think sounds good. I don't recommend adding sugar, since it causes inflammation.

This tea is not the tastiest tea I've ever had, but after about 30 minutes, I was able to move much better.
